Our job was to pull people in the reception line away from the Ambassador and get them integrated into the party - since Ambassador Eaton left town on July 5, everyone wanted to bend his ear and bid farewell. It was an OK party, but we preferred the "real" Fourth party *the one where we could wear shorts) at the Marine House afterward.
